 Presentation of 2012 Standards and Interpretations for HIM Programs-Associate Degree and Baccalaureate Degree for all initial and Accredited programs

August 1, 2011

1. Effective date of revised 2012 Standards and Interpretations for HIM Programs – Associate Degree and Baccalaureate Degree for all new and accredited programs

2. Effective date of the revised AHIMA Entry-level Curriculum Competencies as referenced in the accreditation Standards

3. During the transition period all new applicants, candidates and accredited programs must begin working toward compliance by constructing an implementation plan

January 1, 2012

New programs applying for accreditation will begin to be evaluated against the new Standards and Curriculum Competencies

August 1, 2014

 All CAHIIM Accredited programs will be in full compliance with the 2012 Standards and Interpretations for HIM Programs-Associate Degree and Baccalaureate Degree
