CAHIIM Accreditation System (CAS)

(Program Response to Review Panel)

Program's Response Description

Time Frame: 1-3 weeks

As a Due Process procedure, the program's Response to the Panel of Accreditation Reviewers' evaluation attempts to clarify issues identified in the Self-assessment stage and perhaps to develop new information, policies and procedures to address the concerns noted.

The program director must provide a brief narrative and/or documentation that demonstrates compliance with the Standard questions.

Note: The CAHIIM Commission expects evidence of corrective actions taken and implemented addressing the deficiencies cited, and to be reported by the program director of the campus under review.  Corporate responses to a site visit report are not acceptable.  Responses must be contributed by the program director for the program or campus under review.  When an educational institution sponsors multiple programs and campuses, the focus of CAHIIM accreditation is on the program or campus that is undergoing peer review, such that the program director is responsible for all communications during this phase of the process, so as to fully understand the policies and procedures of the sponsoring educational institution as they relate to compliance with CAHIIM accreditation standards. Programs must address and provide the information requested. Failure to respond satisfactorily may lead to postponement or cancellation of the site visit.
