Highlights of Key Information Categories:
Section I) Profile: Requires the name, address and contact information for your institution president/CEO and the dean or administrator to whom you report.
Section II) Captures student enrollment metrics for the academic year: August 1, 2011-July 31, 2012. Enrollment numbers including the number of program graduates and students no longer in the program due to attrition. You will need to be able to calculate the number of remaining students.
-Formula calculation: Number of enrollments - (number of graduates + number of students attrition) = Remaining students.
Section III) Graduate Placement Rate and Satisfaction survey information: collects specifically the number of surveys sent out, the number of surveys returned and the number of those returned that were satisfactory. You will need to calculate the graduate placement rate and graduate satisfaction rate. Enter 0 if no survey data is available for the reporting academic year.
-Formula for Graduate Placement: Graduate Placement tracks cohorts of graduates which should match the number of graduates for the reporting academic year. (Number of students employed + Number of students continuing their education)/ Total number of graduates (from Enrollment calculations) * 100 = Graduate Placement rate.
(Graduate Placement rate example:)
Total number of program graduates (full time and part time) =25
Number of graduates employed = 12
Number of graduates continuing their education = 7
Placement rate = (12+7) or 19/25* 100 = 76 or 76% graduate placement rate
-Formula for Graduate Satisfaction Rate: Total number of surveys returned /number of satisfied surveys returned * 100 = Graduate Satisfaction rate.
For Graduate Satisfaction rates you may survey any person who has graduated (at any time) from your program. Graduate Satisfaction does not track cohorts of graduates.
(Graduate Satisfaction rate example:)
Total surveys sent =50
Total surveys returned = 25
Total surveys returned ranked as Satisfactory = 20
Formula: 20/25 *100 =80. Or an 80% graduate satisfaction rate
Section IV) Employer Satisfaction Rate survey information: the number of surveys sent and the number of surveys returned that were satisfactory. Employer Satisfaction does not track cohorts of graduates. You may survey your employer community in general or your practicum sites to annually assess external satisfaction with the program and graduates. Enter 0 if no survey data is available for the reporting academic year.
-Formula for Employer Satisfaction:
Total surveys sent =70
Total surveys returned = 25
Total surveys response ranked as Satisfactory = 23
Formula: 25/18 *100 =92. Or an 92% graduate satisfaction rate
Section V) Certification Exam Scores - The Certification Cumulative Summary Score Report provided by AHIMA’s CCHIIM Certification Department for the testing period of October 1, 2011-September 30, 2012 is needed to complete the report.
