CAHIIM Accreditation Training Series

The CAHIIM online video lecture training series is designed to meet the needs of educators by providing training at a time that is convenient to your schedule. The CAHIIM Accreditation Training Series (CATS) is designed for HIM and HI college programs and explores the areas where most questions arise in the accreditation process.

The CAHIIM Accreditation Manual

The purpose of this manual is to provide program administrators with a practical reference for managing the accreditation process. It offers an outline of the process requirements, policies and procedures for programmatic accreditation of the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). Accreditation is a tool for continuous program planning and evaluation. The accreditation process is designed to provide a framework for the ongoing collection of data, periodic review, evaluation, and reporting of results.

The Chief Executive Officer and Accreditation Staff provide programmatic support to academic faculties, administrators and to the public in several ways. They assist programs by answering questions, and providing consultation about Accreditation Standards and the accreditation process for developing and continuing programs. They counsel prospective and current students on issues related to accredited programs and curriculum and accreditation expectations.

CAHIIM Conferences & Workshops

This annual Conference presented by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) is designed to assist programs in the application process for CAHIIM Accreditation to prepare for the process, review the Accreditation Standards, curriculum requirements, examine the CAHIIM expectations for quality assessment, and review overall program readiness. The Conference provides an opportunity to meet with CAHIIM staff and walk through the steps to using the web-based online CAHIIM Accreditation System (CAS), get advice on curriculum development, and instructions on how to prepare the required documentation within the Self-Assessment process.
