The Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM) strives to provide the public with effective and consistent quality monitoring of academic programs in health information management (HIM) and health informatics (HI) through maintenance of accreditation policies and processes. CAHIIM provides tools for assessing continuous quality improvement through the partnership with colleges and universities, our voluntary peer review process, and annual program monitoring as various means to continuously improve the quality of health information management and health informatics education to meet healthcare workforce needs.
CAHIIM accreditation supports graduate competencies and job marketability for your graduates, recruitment opportunities through the online accredited Program Directory, eligibility for a variety of services, certifications, scholarships, stipends and resources through the Member professional associations – the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA), as well as workshops, newsletters, updates and advisement for routine program management.
