What is Accreditation?

Accreditation is both a process and an outcome. As a process, accreditation seeks to determine the educational quality of a program or institution through the application of established standards, peer review, and professional judgment during multiple levels of review. As an outcome, the award of accreditation status provides assurances to the public that a program or institution has been found to meet such standards.
