Accreditation Actions

September 2021 Accreditation Action: Accept the Progress Report.
Rationale: The program is compliant with all Standards.
Accreditation Award: Initial Accreditation.
February 2021 Accreditation Action: Grant seven years of Initial Accreditation with a Progress Report. The program remains non-compliant with the following 2018 Standards:

Standard 4. Program Goals. The Advisory Committee goal and target outcome require further revision. The Advisory Committee goal as stated in the revised PEP is an accreditation requirement, not a goal.  The target outcome needs more specificity.
Standard 9. Advisory Community Requirement Goal.  The revised advisory committee goal is not a goal.  It is the CAHIIM accreditation Standard.  Programs are required to have a minimum of one annual advisory committee meeting.

Standard 18. Professional Development.  Per the program evaluation plan, all faculty will participate in at least one professional development activity per year.  Amanda Atkinson, RHIA is lacking a professional development activity for 2020.  In addition, Bonnie Wilkins, RHIA, program director is lacking documentation of 2020 professional development activities.
Standard 24. The Curriculum. The program must demonstrate that the curriculum meets or exceeds the professional course content as published in the AHIMA HIM entry-level curriculum competencies for baccalaureate degree programs.
The following competencies are partially met until assignment is revised to meet the required taxonomy level: I.A.1, II.B.2, II.B.4

The following competencies are not met until an assignment is developed to address the competency at the required taxonomy level:  III.A.3, V.B.1, V.D.2, VI.A.3.
