December 2016 Accreditation Action: Grant 10 years of Continuing Accreditation with a Progress Report. The program remains non-compliant with the following Standards:
The following Standards are Partially Met:
Standard 17. Faculty Qualifications. The program has provided a plan to address strengthening HIT 352 to better meet the competencies and relevance to HIM practice.
Standard 24. The Curriculum. The program has provided a good action plan to address the curriculum competencies cited in the Curriculum Findings Report and implement 2014 competency revisions.
Standard 25. Curriculum Sequence. The curriculum revision to delete Transcription as a required course is in process. A final determination by the College is pending.
Standard 26. Curriculum Syllabi and Competencies. Revisions to syllabi are required to address the curriculum deficiencies cited under standard #24.
Standard 27. Curriculum Evaluation. The program needs to consider projects andfor assignments to reach taxonomic levels such as 4 or 5. It is challenging to write multiple choice questions that will comply with higher taxonomic levels. Samples provided are not reaching higher taxonomic levels.
