Application for the CAHIIM HIM Future Education Model Demonstration Program

Health Information Management (HIM) programs interested in becoming an HIM Demonstration Program for the Future Education Model will be invited to submit their application from July 31 to October 3, 2023.

CAHIIM is developing standards and competencies for a new HIM education model to advance the profession and protect student interests. Before full implementation of the 2025 HIM Standards and the new competencies, CAHIIM invites programs to participate as a Future Education Model Demonstration Program to build a community of early adopters.

Early adopters of the 2025 HIM Standards and competencies will participate in several competency-based education (CBE) training sessions and help shape future education by sharing ideas and CBE learning activities and assessments with other programs. Demonstration programs will also be invited to participate in scholarly activities to promote knowledge translation.

Interested programs will complete the Demonstration Program Application by October 3, 2023. No application fee is required.
